  • Unsolicited testimonial from Principal of B.V.B. College of Engineering, Hubli, Karnataka. Faculty from this college have been active participants of IUCEE programs for past three years
  • Dear Sir,
    Greetings to you.
From a long time I have not shared with you what is happening with the reform process at BVB which started about three years back with IUCEE initiatives.

    • Last two days (24th and 25th of Jan.) we had a faculty conclave where in BVB faculty were to share the new initiatives and innovations they have done in course design, delivery and assessment in the last semester.
    • There was an overwhelming response and totally 64 papers were presented in the conclave (33 oral presentations, and 31 posters) from the faculty of various programs.
    • By considering the total number of authors in the conclave I can say that now 96 faculty of BVB are taking active interest in taking forward the learnings from IUCEE FLI's.
    • The conclave not only gave the faculty an opportunity to share their initiatives with other faculty but also there was a good discussion all around.
    • The conclave has created a lot excitement in other faculty who are not yet part of this movement and I believe this year many of them will be joining us.
    • We have decided to make this a yearly feature.

Another good news I wish to bring to your notice that, our first autonomous batch is graduating this year and this is the batch which has gone through a very different learning experience because of the new initiatives (Again IUCEE FLI's). In the first week of placements the students had 732 placement offerings which is record breaking fear for our college. The feedback from the companies is very positive and encouraging compared to previous years. Many companies said 'We wish we had more numbers to recruit....'
We at BVB thankfully acknowledge IUCEE and particularly both of you Dr. Krishna Vedula and Dr. Ravindra for making this happen. I can only say that you have made a big difference to our institute and our students.
    with regards
    Ashok Shettar

IUCEE November / December Newsletter
by Krishna Vedula - Saturday, 31 December 2011, 08:04 PM

I send my personal wishes to you for a very Happy New Year. We are fortunate that 2012 is starting with enormous new energy for IUCEE (Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education). Thank you for your part in making this possible. We are launching our new IUCEE Virtual Academy by offering 16 Mini Courses as Pilots by US faculty directly to students in our Consortium Colleges using GoTo Meeting technology on-line. Planning for this has been carried out during November and December. We have also strengthened and streamlined our plans for offering Faculty Leadership Institute (FLI) workshops by US experts at various locations during 2012. Workshops on Effective Teaching and ABET Accreditation are being offered in January and February. The modified IUCEE portal shows the wide range of programs which IUCEE can facilitate between Consortium Colleges and US experts. Please make sure you visit our portal regularly.

IUCEE September / October Newsletter

The success of the Webinars during Spring has enabled IUCEE to broaden its reach by launching the IFEES/IUCEE Global Webinars, in collaboration with International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), reaching a more global audience. The success of the Webinars has also enabled a Virtual FLI to be piloted with 10 Webinars offered in July to Sept as a weekly Lecture series by Prof. Oakes of Purdue University. This pilot has established the possibility of conducting short courses directly for students in colleges at different locations in India. IUCEE is, therefore, actively exploring the possibility of an IUCEE Virtual Academy for Webinar-based lectures provided directly to large numbers of colleges in India by US faculty. At the same time a preliminary list of potential workshops for 2012 FLIs is being prepared so that colleges and US experts have sufficient time to plan properly this year.
